Afghan TV channel to broadcast WHY STORIES films
15 documentaries of the WHY STORIES series are now to be broadcast in Afghanistan. The contract was sealed between THE WHY and the channel 1TV.
The deal is a great achievement considering the common censorship of human rights topics that the Central South-Asian country encounters. On the ranking of the 2020 World Press Freedom Index, Afghanistan is at the position 122 out of 180 countries.
In conversations with the THE WHY since January, the 1TV channel was introduced to our team through Nagieb Khaja, Afghan-Danish filmmaker that is part of our Advisory Board. Before that, THE WHY’s documentaries were aired in the country in 2015.
